Northern youths back Fayose's presidential ambition

Members of the Northern Youths Group (NYG) have declared their support for the pres-idential ambition Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose.

Fayose has launched his campaign to become the next president of Nigeria in 2019.

NYG Co-ordinating Chairman, Musa Tukur Gombe, announced the group’s support for Fayose on Thursday in Kaduna, barely 24 hours after former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, declared his aspiration for the nation’s foremost office in 2019.

Addressing a press conference, Gombe told journalists that his group saw the vision Fayose as what is needed for the country at this crucial time.

He said that after a careful discussion and analysis of Fayose’s vision, NYG came to conclusion that Governor Fayose is the best man Nigeria and Nigerians need to suc-ceed President Muhammadu Buhari.

“In this case, our mission here is simple. We have come to declare our support for Mr. Ayodele Fayose, as our presidential candidate in 2019 Insha Allah.

“In Fayose, we see vision, focus and principles that can help this country a great deal. So, we really need to do more to help Fayose project what to realise his dream in 2019.”

Gombe who said that neither himself nor any member of his group has ever met Fay-ose and therefore denied being sponsored, retorted that their love for the country de-void of sentiments, informed their support for the governor.

“Though we have not met before, but we have heard him talking, criticising this gov-ernment based on issues and not personality or propaganda. That is why it is difficult for anyone to accuse him of selfishness or ill-will.

“As a Nigerian, he has the right to bare his mind on any burning national issue from his own perspective with facts and figures.

“Like I said earlier, we need to talk about Nigeria and not the region we come from. President Muhammadu Buhari is today our president and not the president of Katsina State or North or Fulani and that is the eye with which we are looking at Fayose,” he stated.
