Hundreds of constituents from Bebeji/Kiru federal constituency have threatened to recall the embattled House of Representatives member, Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa, information gathered reveals.

The aggrieved constituents converged on the Agric Show Ground Dakatsalle in Bebeji local government area of the state on Sunday and kicked-start the recall processes.

One of the leaders planning for lawmaker’s recall, Malam Salele Bushasha told the mammoth crowd that they were set to recall Hon Kofa for disrespect to President Muhammadu Buhari, National and State leaderships of APC as well as National Assembly.

“Kofa has no concern whatsoever to his constituents. He was suspended from the NASS but instead
of him to reconcile with leadership of the house, rather he leaves our sit at the lower chamber vacant.

“Based on these and many other reasons too numerous to mention, we have compiled all the necessary documents for onward presentation to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the 30th of this month to kick-start start the process.”

“We called for this meeting to intimate you about our decision. It is high time for us to have someone that will give us proper representation at the lower chamber,” he said.
He said they would not fold their hands watching the suspended lawmaker subjecting them to untold hardship by abandoning their slot at the NASS.

Bushasha said the people of Kiru and Bebeji local government areas wanted their interest to be fully protected at the NASS and that since Kofa was not ready to serve them better, it would be good for them to recall and subsequently replace him with a competent hand.

Present at the rally were the Chairman of Youth Council Bebeji Chapter, Abdurraahid Isah, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) Bebeji Chapter, Yusuf Garba and many politician from both the ruling APC and opposition political parties.

Efforts to reach Abdulmumini Kofa by this reporter proved abortive, as he neither picks the several calls put to his mobile phone nor did he replay the SMS sent to him.
