BREAKING: Huddersfield Secures promotion to the Premier League after beating Reading on Penalties

Huddersfield Secures promotion to the Premier League

David Wagner's side, who finished fifth in the Championship during the regular campaign, defeated the Royals 4-3 in a dramatic penalty shootout.

Christopher Schindler was the hero, with the German slotting past Ali Al-Habsi to earn victory after
the game finished goalless after 120 minutes.
Huddersfield should have went ahead in the first-half at Wembley but Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown missed an open goal.
Town were denied a strong penalty appeal after the break before both sides wasted opportunities to settle the tie within the 90 minutes.
The scrappy affair continued into extra-time and Nakhi Wells dragged a glorious chance wide with just minutes remaining.

In the penalty shootout, veteran goalkeeper Al-Habsi denied Joey van den Berg before Liam Moore clipped the crossbar.
And it was left to 27-year-old German Schindler to secure promotion and a £170million uplift in revenue for Huddersfield.
