ABUJA KILLINGS: Police assures residents of Safety

Following the reported killings in Kuje Area Council of the FCT, residents of the area have urged the FCT command of the Nigeria Police Force to go the extra mile in curbing the situation.

Goodman Tyopenda, who stays in Kuje town made the plea recently.
The appeal, he explained followed the killing of a secu­rity guard, Yunusa Umar in Pasali area, recently.
He called on the FCT Po­lice Commissioner to deploy more men and officers to the area to complement the available ones.

Another resident, who pleaded anonymity disclosed that, between November and December, 2016 two persons were allegedly killed and dumped around the area.
He said the deceased, who resides at Unguwar Zara, be­fore his untimely death was a guard at a provision shop in the area.
However, the FCT Po­lice Command Spokesman, Manzah Anjuguri, has said that the isolated case was reported to the police and is under investigation.
He advised residents of the area to about their legitimate businesses without any fear as the police are in control of the situation.
He called on the residents of the area to assist the police by providing them with use­ful information that could help in combating crime within Kuje town and its en­virons.
The Command Spokes­man, therefore, warned evil men to stay away from the FCT and its environs because the FCT Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Musta­pha, has put stringent mea­sures in place to get them arrested and be punished ac­cording to the law.
